Civil Society Organization Sustainability Index

FHI 360 with support from USAID assesses the Civil Society Organization Sustainability Index (CSOSI) for each country in the Sub-Saharan Africa.  This assesses the capacity of civil society to serve as both a short-term partner in implementing development solutions and a long-term actor in ensuring that development outcomes are sustained. This resource allows local civil society to assess the environment in which they are operating and their capacity to advocate, operate sustainably and communicate with citizens.

ADPP Angola as an implementing partner of FHI 360 worked with 8 other CSOs in an expert panel to assess the sustainability index of Angolan CSOs for 2019.

The index addresses both advances and setbacks in seven key components: legal environment, organizational capacity, financial viability, advocacy, service provision, sectoral infrastructure and public image. It will be a useful resource for local civil society organizations, governments, funders and academicians.

We are pleased to present the 2019 report in ENGLISH or PORTUGUESE.
