The Polytechnic School Viana
Community Actions: In April, the school organized cleaning campaigns in the community and the distribution of Certeza to purify water. They also handed out mosquito nets in risk areas and planted trees in collaboration with the authorities.
Open Days: the school has held a number of open days to date. On 19 February, there was a meeting of graduates from 2012 to 2015 to exchange experiences with final year students about to embark on long-term teaching practice and all the other students at the school. Other events included a celebration of International Children’s Day and Africa Day.
Vegetable garden: the students help cultivate a vegetable garden to supply the kitchen. They are growing kale, onion, sweet potato, carrots and beans.
Plant nursery: the school has grown 7,039 saplings for distribution, in particular to schools lacking trees.
Sport: among other things, the school has organized men’s and women’s football tournaments with schools in the neighborhood.
