The new students who form Team 2018 arrived at TTC Zaire on 29 January and spent the first two weeks studying the content of the Teacher Training Manual and routines at the school. Responsibility areas were allotted, such as the areas of food, water, sport and culture. Preparation for the 12-week study trip took the form of local investigations and presentations of the findings; 15 courses about the trip; common meetings about safety; and courses about travel health. The students are currently travelling, with the six core groups of ten students each divided into two bus groups. Bus Group 1 has already visited Mbanza Congo where the students investigated education, water and fishing. Their planned route will take them to Caxito, Sumbe, Kibala, Londuimbali Huambo, Caála, Ukuma, Kubal, Lobito, Porto Ambuim, Luanda and back to Soyo. Bus Group 2 went to Nzeto to find out about small businesses, health and children and they will continue to Luanda, Porto Ambuim, Lobito, Balombo, Bailundo, Huambo, Cruzamento, and Caxito before returning to Soyo. 1st Year subjects finalized in this period are economy, sociology, communication and Living Healthily to Old Age.
