The Annual Report covering ADPP’s activities during 2016 is out and makes interesting reading. 2016 was an important milestone for ADPP Angola, as it celebrated 30 years of creating development, together with the thousands of people whose lives were being transformed through projects in the fields of education, community health, agriculture, and rural and economic development.

The Annual Report demonstrates the scope and reach of ADPP’s contribution to development. The numbers alone are impressive. Each section of the report lists the key results achieved over the year, and provides details of the individual projects along with a schematic overview of the overall structure. In the field of education, for example, the report notes that 3,310 teachers were in training during 2016, and around 30,000 primary pupils across 92 municipalities were being taught by final year trainees. The pages that follow explain more about each teacher training schools, and about the innovative programs being implemented to meet the ever-present challenges faced by this sector.

Farming is another key area where great strides are being made to raise the living standard of participants, not only in economic terms but also as regards health and education, all of which are integral to well-being. The images alone demonstrate the achievements, while illustrating the challenges faced on a daily basis.

The remainder of the report provides further examples of how ADPP’s initiatives are changing lives, in diverse communities around the country.
